Virtual Glasses:

Ophthalmotronics is developing the Smart Eye Band to address the market for vision impairment. Depending on the suitability of such scleral band implant applications, either passive bands are used with appropriate locking buckle to allow the ophthalmologist micro-surgeon to create enough tension in the band or inflatable tubing that allow tension control by injection of bio-compatible fluids such as a gas or a saline solution. When approved by FDA, each of the Smart Band devices will leverage either the passive bands or the Artificial Muscle Technologies to expand the market of potential users and customers. The Smart Eye Band, when approved by FDA, should enable Ophthalmotronics to address a significant portion of the moderate to severe vision impairment market currently not satisfied with vision aid devices.
